SUMMER 2026 COMMUNITY PROGRAM
Junior Docents
Helping Young Historians Learn, Share, and Preserve Local History
Now Gauging Interest

The Granger Historical Society is planning a Junior Docent program for Summer 2026 and is currently gauging community interest.

Notices have been sent home with all 3rd and 4th graders announcing the program. It is intended primarily for students entering grades 4–5, though younger children may also participate if accompanied by an adult. The program will be offered free of charge.

A docent is someone who helps visitors learn about local history, museum artifacts, and the stories that connect our community to the past. Junior Docents may have opportunities to speak with visitors during open houses and assist with historical events and activities.

Training sessions will be held this summer and are expected to last approximately three hours. Dates and times have not yet been finalized and will depend on overall family availability and interest.
